On the Oregon Coast with Coast to Coast AM

Grabbing any radio station, AM or FM, can be a challenge from the Oregon Coast.  Not only is there a small mountain range blocking you from 'civilization', but weather conditions are generally so bad that reception is spotty at best.  On Monday night, FM was out of the question, nothing was coming in clear at all.  Even the local, low power FM stations were bad.  The AM band was hopping though, and while looking for a station that had interesting, static free music, I kept coming across Coast to Coast AM.

I've been a Coast to Coast listener since the mid 90's, so it was easy for me to spot as I ran through the dial.  It was popping up incessantly.  Back home in Portland, I can get it on the local 1190 KEX, and 780 KOH out of Reno, NV.  But that night I found it on 14 stations!  What's more, more than half of them were entirely clear.

Of course, I had to log this.  Stations taken from Coast to Coast AM's affiliate list.

All frequencies AM

580   KMJ  Fresno, CA
640   KFI  Los Angeles, CA
780   KOH  Reno, NV
1110 KBND  Bend, OR
1120 KPNW  Eugene, OR
1190 KEX Portland, OR
1240 KQEN Roseburg, OR
1280 KWSX Stockton, CA
1290 KPAY Chico, CA
1350 KSRO Santa Rosa, CA
1370 KAST Astoria, OR
1440 KMED Medford, OR
1530 KFBK Sacramento, OR
1560 KNZR Bakersfield, CA

Not surprising, all CA and OR stations (aside from the ever present KOH).  But looking at the frequencies, I don't think it would be any great exaggeration to say Coast to Coast AM was about one half of the listening option on all the receivable stations.
